Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to laud heaps of praise on Lucas Torreira after the Uruguayan international hit his first goal for the club against Tottenham in the north London derby.
The £22m summer signing from Sampdoria found the back of the net for the first time in an Arsenal shirt in arguably the biggest game he has played since arriving in north London.
Torreira was played in by the Premier League’s top scorer with 10 goals in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang before dispatching the ball past Hugo Lloris emphatically – one would be forgiven for thinking he was the league’s top marksman given the confidence in the strike.
Even before the match-winning moment, the Gunners’ fans have grown to love the 22-year-old for his combative showings in the middle, giving the side a bite that they haven’t had for many years.
